Naxos – Heart of the Aegean

Naxos is the largest island of the Cyclades with stunning coastline. Escape at the famous Rina Cave a sea cave with spectacular rock formations. Enjoy snorkeling, the rich marine life and paddle smoothly into the sea cave on our SUP boards for a mesmerizing experience. Next we cruise to Aliko Peninsula, home to some of the most stunning beaches of Naxos, featuring soft white sand, turquoise waters and a unique cedar forest growing along the shore. The area is protected, meaning there is no sunbeds or beach bars – just pure natural beauty. The abandoned Aliko hotel is also covered with impressive graffiti art, creating a striking contrast with the surroundings. Boat may anchor near Aghios Prokopios or Agia Anna beach for a few more moments of relaxing swimming. Continuing our day, we head to Chora, the vibrant heart of Naxos, to visit the iconic Portara, the ancient marble getaway and stroll through the Old Town – Kastro. Wander through the narrow streets with the traditional houses, boutique shops, historic landmarks, hidden courtyards and ancient churches, creating perfect photo opportunities and perhaps pick up a souvenir from a local artisan. Last on our list is the rich culinary heritage of Naxos – swing by Maro’s traditional Naxian cuisine cookhouse, or Typografio & Barozzi for a creative Naxian Cuisine experience!
